A baby is like the beginning of new things, wonder, hope and a dream of possibilities...
Here is a list of things that make them a WONDER..
1. May born babies weigh more..
As if by some magic, babies born in the month of May weigh an average of 200 grams more than other months. Has it got anything to do with the earth's rotation?? Or are they in cahoots with the moon?? No one knows...
2. They can both breathe and swallow at the same time...
Upto seven months of age a baby is able to swallow and breathe simultaneously.
3. Babies digest the hair that they grow in the womb...
When a fetus is about four months into pregnancy it develops a mustache that, over the course of a month, spreads over its entire body. This hair is called lanugo and it all falls out before birth (in most cases) and is EATEN BY THE BABY. It then is digested and becomes part of its first poop (called meconium).
4. A new born baby has about one cup of blood in his/her body..
5. New born babies can see only in black and white for a few months, weird isn't it?
6. Babies don't have bony kneecaps..
They just have a structure of cartilage that forms something like it, but the real kneecap doesn't develop until a few years into life.
7. All babies have blue eyes..
The melanin in their eyes needs time to be fully deposited or be darkened by ultraviolet light to reveal their true colours.
